Splurge or Skip – Moroccan Oil

About a year ago I was introduced to Moroccan Oil for my coarse / thick / wavy hair. Everyone raved about it, “my hair dries faster”, “it smells amazing”, “it makes my dull hair shiny” Naturally – being the product junkie that I am – I splurged and got the oil and the conditioner - $40 for a glass jar and $40 for the conditioner.   After the first few days my hair was silky, shiny, smooth, and smelled delicious. I was so in love I pitched it to my friends and family and convinced them this was a MUST BUY.  A few weeks went by and my hair continued to look incredible, but my skin was a complete nightmare! My chin and back broke out like crazy. I thought it was just me, but turns out it happened to almost all of my friends that I made the recommendation to. (Sorry again everyone)

Pros: Moroccan Oil does what it claims to do – My hair was gorgeous. Shiny, silky, smooth, and smelled great.
Cons: If you have sensitive skin this could be your nemesis.
The verdict – If you get your hair washed at a salon (where the product doesn’t touch your back or face) this is a SPLURGE for sure! It does amazing things for unruly hair. But If you’re prone to breakouts then I would definitely SKIP!
Moroccan Oil has a TON of products in their line. I’ve only used these two.

Tip – there are some natural Argon oils – argon is the main ingredient in Moroccan Oil – on the market that have excellent reviews. They don’t have all the fillers that Moroccan Oil has. You can check them out here and here.
