The #1 Reason Your Dreams Haven’t Come True and How to Keep Going

Living in Hollywood where I’m surrounded by a land of opportunity, I find myself wondering what exactly it is about someone that fulfills his or her dream versus the others that are left in the rat race? Well, if you ask me, it all comes down to resistance! I feel like the universe has been literally screaming this in my face for the past two years.

As I sat in one of Hollywood’s top acting studios last week, the topic of resistance arose. Resistance is simply and purely all rooted in fear. It keeps us from having what we want and what our soul calls for us to achieve. It can show up in making a spiritual advancement, breaking a bad habit, overcoming an addiction, and pursuing your dreams. Resistance will show its ugly face just before a breakthrough when we get close to what it is we’re gonna do or when we’re going to make an impact in life. This resistance will show its ugly fangs in statements such as “I’m not good enough” or  ”I don’t know if I have what it takes”.

I admit that I cave to resistance. What is it that makes us cave to this resistance and how can we overcome it?  Well, we must embrace, own, and become obsessed with our goals. We must commit to success and have a love affair with it otherwise we will never make it out on the other side. I believe the true Hollywood success stories have all been armed with weapons to resist this resistance. Make a commitment today to reach for your star whether you’re pursuing the lime light or not.

1) Patience: Delay gratification; conserve your energy, maintain yourself for the long haul

2) Seek Order: Eliminate all chaos and clutter

3) Demystify the Process: Learn and improve on your craft, the more knowledge the better, follow the structure, and you need to do your work every day.

***Stay Active~!*** Like they say fake it until you make it! As you keep doing it any way, the universe WILL make a way.

Shoot for the stars and don’t look back!

  1. Such a great post, Holland! I have felt this way at times in the past and had begun working on a project that was important to me and yet I let those little voices creep in, they stalled my progress because I listened to them and delayed me reaching my dreams.

I decided to stop listening to the voices that try to tell you everything you are not. I’m back on track with one specific goal in mind and I’m excited about it again. If the recent Olympics haven’t inspired people to go after what they want and pursue “Gold” like it’s nobody’s business, I don’t know what would! ;) I found the athletes of multiple events to be such a source of inspiration in my own life when I feel like I might want to quit. Hearing some of their backgrounds and the obstacles and seeing how far they’ve come is a reminder that I have no excuse.

I’m glad to hear you had a revelation and are ready to go after your dreams! Best wishes to you! :)

    Hugs,
    Karla
